The Eighth Annual LinOma Cup was held at the HiMark Golf Club on July 16th and 17th. The event features two teams of 12 players from both Omaha & Lincoln. Omaha had an opportunity to repeat their 2010 title, which was their third overall and a repeat would have been their first in the series.

After the Saturday morning matches of NET Team Total/Alternate Shot, Lincoln held a commanding 12 1/2 to 5 1/2 lead. The afternoon matches of Four Ball held nearly the same form as the morning matches, with Lincoln winning 11 1/2 to 6 1/2, giving them a commanding 24 to 12 lead. In order for Omaha to retain the Cup, they would need to win 24 of the 36 possible points in Sunday's singles matches. Buoyed by sweeps from Tim Holt and Brent Poppe, Lincoln put any drama to rest early, winning the Sunday matches 21 1/2 to 14 1/2, for a Cup winning total score of 45 1/2 to 26 1/2 - the second largest margin of victory in the series.

Tim Holt was the MVG (Most Valuable Golfer) for the winning side, going a perfect 9-0-0 for the weekend, becoming only the third Lincoln player to accomplish the feat (Justin Hash & Scott Diekmann both went 9-0-0 in Lincoln's record setting 2009 win).
