The Seventh Annual LinOma Cup was held at the HiMark Golf Club on July 17th and 18th. The event features two teams of 12 players from both Omaha & Lincoln. Lincoln was coming off it's historic 48 to 24 win in 2009, which included an 18-0 whitewashing in the Alternate Shot/Net Team Total portion of the event, and may have come in to the event over confident. Lincoln was clearly not ready for the mostly solid play, across the board, by the revamped Omaha team.
In a complete switch from the previous year, the event was nearly deadlocked after the two matches of day one. Omaha held a 1 point lead, 18 1/2 to 17 1/2, ensuring that Sunday would be the pivotal day in determining the winner of the Cup. Needless to say that Sunday turned out to be anti climactic, at best, with Omaha running away to a 40 - 32 victory, returning the Cup to Omaha. The following is a summary of the team scoring, per leg:

The success of the years that the event was at HiMark, has prompted both teams to agree to have HiMark "host" the event every year. Omaha will be the "host" team in 2011, looking to defend their championship. The tentative date for the event is July 15th & 16th, 2011.
